Implant Snap-On or Implant Overdenture
Implant overdentures are a kind of removable denture that is retained in the mouth by snapping them directly onto implants as opposed to the patient's gums, jawbone ridge, and sticky denture paste like in conventional dentures. When a patient lacks a strong ridge, which is crucial in denture retention, conventional dentures will often come loose and cause severe mouth soreness and irritation while not allowing the patient to chew properly. Snap-on overdentures solves this issue while being a more affordable alternative to an All on 4 implant reconstruction. Although most of the patients are good candidates for overdentures, some cases need bone grafting so the implants that hold the overdenture are secure. The recommended number of implants is a minimum of 4 for the upper jaw and 2 for the lower jaw.
